In Costa Rica there are people that offer basic Climbing courses with ropes, vertical rescue and rappelling downhill. They also teach the Tiroles Technique, where you join two points with a rope by passing from one side to another.
The most important issue is security, that's why the equipment used has a very high resistance. The first steps consists of climbing a vertical wall of approximately 9 meters.
Climb: Is when you go up or down and when you move in horizontal and obliquely in the walls. The climber uses the borders, holds, cracks or protuberances to place their hands and feet.
Rappel: Is a French word that means to join or to take. It is one of the first jumping techniques used to assist injured climbers in the rocky walls. The rappel is a slow down in a rope, so that you can control your speed while going down.
To Secure: Is the technique climbers utilize to avoid injuries when they stop after a fall without having reached the ground.
